NASPAA Training

Interested in becoming a NASPAA site visitor?

NASPAA site visitors are the backbone of the accreditation process — they serve as the eyes and ears of the Commission on Peer Review and Accreditation (COPRA) — visiting campuses and bringing a peer-review perspective to accreditation. Site visitors have the opportunity to give back to the public affairs community, while meeting new colleagues and learning about best practices in the field. Teams consist of three members, a chair, a traditional academic, and a practitioner, each of whom is matched to a specific graduate program. The site visits typically require 2-3 days of time in February or March, as well as a follow-up report to COPRA. While there are no honoraria, expenses incurred during the visit are reimbursed.

The site visitor training process is simple.  You can plan to attend site visitor training either online or at regional and national conferences throughout the year.  At the upcoming Social Equity Leadership Conference at NC State, you can register to attend the training session following the conference on June 7, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.

If you’re interested in training as a site visitor, you can find more information online at NASPAA’s website, or email Heather Gregory (gregory@naspaa.org) at NASPAA.
